ISC2 Chennai Chapter successfully hosted a one-day workshop on
“Establishing and Operationalizing a Data Privacy Office (DPO) for an Organization”, led by Mr. Solomon Sagayaraj, a cybersecurity leader.
As President of the ISC2 Chennai Chapter, I opened the event with an inaugural address, highlighting:

🔻 Surge in ransomware attacks with triple extortion
🔻 The growing importance of data privacy in the age of AI
🔍 Workshop Highlights
Solomon delivered an exceptional, hands-on session through a case study of a pretend bank — Secure Bank India Ltd.
Participants explored how to build a Privacy Office from the ground up, covering:
Privacy governance & operating models, DPDP requirements, Incident / breach response, etc
Each module included interactive exercises, allowing participants to step into the role of a Data Privacy Officer and experience what it takes to operationalize a DPO function effectively.
