ISC2 Chennai Chapter organized its annual Cyber Security Conference at the MMA Auditorium in Chennai on the 22nd of February 2025. The event revolved around the theme “Shaping the future of Cybersecurity.”
During the conference, I addressed the audience, setting the context by discussing the current Cybersecurity Threat landscape and highlighting the technological advancements and security trends of 2024. These included the rising trend of social engineering attacks and the utilization of AI for deep fakes. I emphasized the importance of leveraging AI in security defense, focusing on analytics for anomaly detection, automation for prioritizing playbooks for containment actions, and monitoring attack surfaces. Additionally, I stressed the significance of Next Gen SOC capabilities with AI/ML analytics, Red teaming to evaluate control effectiveness, and continuous security maturity assessments. As the President of ISC2 Chennai, I warmly welcomed all participants and speakers.
The conference featured insightful sessions by industry experts, including:
– Dr. Rama Subramaniam felicitated the Star Speaker award for the speaker of PDM session in 2024 and delivered a keynote address on “Cyber Security Tomorrow: AI as a Game Changer.”
– Ashok L discussed “Cognitive Load and Cyber Security.”
– Shankar V shared perspectives on the “Future of Cyber Security from a Common Man’s viewpoint.”
– A panel discussion by KPMG on TPRM in AI was moderated by Visveswaran R.
Thanks to mentor Dr.Rama Subramaniam for continued support to the chapter activities.
The event saw a substantial turnout, with 150 Infosec security professionals, members from ISC2 Chennai, ISACA Chennai, Cyber Society of India and other ISC2 chapter attendees from across India actively participating and engaging in the enriching discussions.
